Daylon & Lauryn’s love story began at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University during one of the most unforgettable times in history, the COVID pandemic. Lauryn was a freshman Social Work student trying to survive online classes, campus life, and curfews, while Daylon was a hybrid-learning junior majoring in Biomedical Engineering.

Like many modern love stories, it all started with a DM. Daylon decided to shoot his shot, slid into Lauryn’s messages, and the rest quickly became history. Their first dates happened during a time of masks, isolation, and strict curfew hours, but somehow their connection made even a pandemic feel a little less crazy.

Through every challenge, laugh, late-night conversation, and adventure, their love continued to grow stronger. Daylon quickly became Lauryn’s calm in the chaos, while Lauryn became Daylon’s biggest blessing and best friend.

Then on March 14, 2026, Daylon got down on one knee and asked the question that would change both of their lives forever. Of course, Lauryn said yes and now they’re beyond excited to celebrate forever with all the people they love most.

From an HBCU DM to “I do,” their story proves that sometimes the best things happen when you least expect them.
