Born on July 29, 2002, Lauryn entered this world already showing her personality — literally holding onto her mother Sharon and not wanting to come out! But once she arrived, her parents, Sharon and Tim, were beyond grateful to God for their beautiful baby girl. Alongside her eager older sister Amber, Lauryn grew up in Harrisburg, North Carolina, where she stayed busy being involved in just about everything imaginable — from Girl Scouts and competitive cheerleading to track & field and many other activities. Her hardworking spirit showed early when she started her first job at Publix at just 14 years old.
In 2020, Lauryn graduated from Hickory Ridge High School during one of the most difficult and unexpected times in history. Like many students during the COVID-19 pandemic, she missed out on prom, a traditional graduation, and many milestone celebrations — but that never stopped her shine. Determined to make her mark, Lauryn chose what she proudly calls the BEST HBCU in the nation, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where she majored in Social Work.
The next four years became some of the most transformative years of her life. Not only did she meet the love of her life, Daylon, but she also became a proud member of the Alpha Phi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, initiated in Spring 2022. Lauryn later served as Chapter President in 2024, leading with passion, grace, and purpose while successfully bringing in a new line of initiates.
On May 10, 2024 a date made even more special because it was also her dad’s birthday Lauryn graduated from A&T. But stopping was never her style. Just 11 days later, she began the Advanced Standing Program at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, earning her Master of Social Work degree in just 365 days.
Through every accomplishment, challenge, life transition, and late-night study session, Daylon stood faithfully by her side as her biggest supporter, best friend, and greatest partner. Together, they’ve built a love rooted in encouragement, faith, growth, and unwavering support — and this is only the beginning of their story.
